On June 29th, we oficially kicked off the 23rd Visegrad Summer School with our Pre-Inaugural Day, and there was no better way to begin than with a thought-provoking lecture by doc. Michal Vašečka, PhD.: Introduction to Central Europe: Visegrad Group.
As the first academic session of this year’s edition, the lecture invited participants to reflect on a fundamental question: What is Central Europe – and is the concept still relevant in today’s rapidly changing world? With carefully selected data, cultural context, and deep regional insight, Michal Vašečka laid the groundwork for meaningful discussion. The session concluded with an open Q&A that set the tone for what lies ahead.
With curiosity, motivation, and high hopes, we now fully step into this year’s theme: The Future of Enlargement. Let the next 10 days begin.
