X Visegrad Summer School - Alumni Session

X Visegrad Summer School

JUBILEE ALUMNI SESSION
The Villa Decius Association, Krakow, Poland
3-10 July 2011

On the occasion of the 10th edition of the Visegrad Summer School and the 20th
anniversary of the Visegrad Group, we are pleased to invite graduates of the Visegrad Summer School (2002-2010) to apply for participation in the VSS Special Alumni Session.

In the last years, we have all witnessed impediments and triumphs of democratic transformation and integration processes in the region. Since the beginning in 2002, VSS participants have been using our alternative educational platform to perceive these developments, analyze and discuss challenges and explore novel areas of the Visegrad cooperation.
Apart from that, the great ideas of transformation and integration have been put into social practice. Newly established connections, networks and friendships among our graduates are the results we are especially proud of.

This summer our intention is to get us back together and evaluate regional developments and your individual achievements. We aim to create VSS 2011 agenda for and with our graduates. Therefore, we encourage you to report your needs and capabilities, hoping that lectures and discussions will be accompanied by your presentations, exchanging experiences, networking and other formal and informal contribution from your side.

Special event of the Jubilee will be an open-air Visegrad concert in the heart of Krakow.

Visegrad Summer School is "carbon neutral"

We are going to plant 210 trees in Babiogórski National Park

This year The Visegrad Summer School will be a "carbon neutral" event thanks to cooperation with The Aeris Futuro Foundation in the 'Time 4 Forest' Programme. The organisation of the event in the 'carbon neutral' standard includes the estimation of the "carbon footprint", recommendations of minimising it and then offsetting the carbon footprint by planting trees in Babiogórski National Park.
