Goran Rosenberg

Born in Sweden. Writer and journalist. Graduated in 1970 from University of Stockholm, where he studied mathematics, philosophy, political science and journalism. Since 1970 works as a journalist and correspondent for major Swedish newspapers and Swedish Television. Regular columnist and essayist of the Swedish daily newspaper Dagens

Nyheter. PhD at the University of Gothenburg. In 1990 founded the Swedish monthly magazine of essays and opinions, Moderna Tider. Among his books are: An essay on the American idea, Norstedts 1991 and A personal history of Zionism, Messianism and the State of Israel, Bonniers 1996. His essays were translated and published in Neue Züricher Zeitung, Lettre Internationale, Daedalus and New Perspectives Quarterly and others. Works also as documentalist: The Black City with the White House (Golden Nymph award for best news documentary in 1990).

Ambassador of Slovakia in Ukraine. Studied at the Moscow Institute of Oil and Gas and at the Institute of Social Sciences at Ankara University in Turkey. PhD in Public Administration and Political Sciences. 1992-1993 worked at the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs; 1994-1998 Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Turkey, Ankara. 1999-2000 Director of the Slovak Institute for International Studies in Bratislava. Former Executive Director of the International Visegrad Fund. Former director of Department of Analyses and Policy Planning in Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic. 

Arne Ruth

Arne Ruth
As Editor-in-Chief of the liberal Dagens Nyheter, Sweden's largest morning daily, for sixteen years. He left his position in 1998, voicing sharp criticisms of the monopoly tendencies involving the parent company. As an essayist, he contributed to journals in Scandanavia, the German-speaking countries, France and the United States, focusing on aspects of European culture and politics. Among his most noted achievements as an author is a book on the arts under fascism: Staging Society: Aesthetics and Politics in the Third Reich (co-authored with Ingemar Karlsson). He is also on the board of the Swedish Helsinki Committe, the Swedish chapter of Reporters Sans Frontiers, and the Ship to Bosnia project for the establishment of a Cultural Centre for Reconciliation in Lipnica, Bosnia.

Graduated in history from University of Brno (1981) and in political science/security policy in Germany (The University of Giessen, 1997, PhD in 1998). Teacher in several universities (Sodortern-Stockholm, Giessen-Germany, CEU-Budapest). Author of several books and numerous studies (security policy, international terrorism). Works as analyst of international relations in the Research Center of Slovak Foreign Policy Association in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Chairman of the Voivodship Uran-Architectural Committee. Graduated at Krakow Technical Academy (Faculty of Architecture). Author of a number of publications in Polish as well as in English and German, concerning architecture and urban studies. Entitled for national architectural designing (1989) and town planning designing (1990).

Honorary Consul of the Republic of Brazil in Krakow. Graduated in Oriental Philology from the Jagiellonian University, and in European Studies from the Pułtusk School of Humanities. PhD in Management. His work experience include supervising implementation of development plans, diplomatic representation of Poland, creation of bilateral economic cooperation at the level of countries and regions, economic analyses, negotiating international agreements in the field of economic cooperation and supervising execution of international commercial and industrial cooperation agreements. Lecturer at the Jagiellonian University in the field of strategy of development and human resources; Chairman of the Foundation for the Jagiellonian University; consultant in local government.  

Karol Szyndzielorz

Karol Szyndzielorz

Graduated from the Warsaw University (Dep. Of Journalism, MA Specialization in International Relations). He began his career in 1957 at the Życie Warszawy daily as a reporter. During the Warsaw Block intervention to Czechoslovakia in 1968 he worked as a foreign correspondent, and later as an editor of the Science and Technology section. He did post graduate work in Socials Sciences and Political Sciences as a Ford Foundation grantee at Cornell University and Stanford University. During 1977 and 1978 he was the first Polish Nieman Fellow at Harvard University. Since 1979 he has been the co-editor of the Global Paper One World published by the UN system. This publication and Życie Warszawy were both suspended under the material law in 1981. He then moved to the Polish Newsweek as foreign editor (1985-1991). In 1989, he was spokesman of the Round Table debates in Warsaw. Founder and editor-in-chief of the financial daily Nowa Europa (1991). In 1994, he became deputy CEO and member of the board of Zasada Group (Mercedes Polska). Founded and owned the company Media Group in 1996. Currently he is the advisor of the Executive Board of Siemens Polska.

Magdaléna Vašáryová

Magdalena Vášáryová

A member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. Chairwoman of the oldest Slovak women’s association „Živena“ and chairwoman of the Institute for cultural policies. In the past she served as a State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic. Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Poland (2000 – 2005), between 1990 – 1993 Czechoslovak Ambassador to Austria. Founder and in years 1993 – 2000 the director of the Slovak Foreign Policy Association - SFPA (today honorary chair). Lectured at the Institute of International Relationships and Law Harmonization at the Faculty of Law of the Comenius University in Bratislava, and currently she is lecturer at the CEVRO Institute (Prague). In 2010 she was awarded with a Gold Medal for Meritorious for Culture – Gloria Artis. An author of several books and articles in domestic and international press.
