Marcin Galent

Sociologist and anthropologist; PhD from the Centre for European Studies of the Jagiellonian University, focused on immigration within the EU. He has taken part in a number of research projects focusing on the attitudes of the Poles towards European integration. His current interests include the reconstruction of national identity, citizenship, and the theory of multiculturalism. 1999 – 2000 He was assistant in Joint European Project done with European Commision, Philosophy Faculty on Jagiellonian University, UAM in Poznań, UMCS in Lublin, University of Granada (Spain) and University of Exeter (England). In 2004 he was a Member of University Association for Contemporary European Studies, UK. In 2002 – Mamber – founder of European Forum Association. In 2001 – Member of the Academy of Political Science in New York.

Senior research fellow and a program director in Institute for Public Affairs, Bratislava, Slovakia. Projects on social and political climate, views on integration and relevant social issues. Member of the executive committee of the Slovak Political Science Association, Member of Board of Trustees of the Foundation SPACE (Social Policy Analysis Center) and of the Institute for Public Affairs. Since 1998 - lecturer at the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Arts, Comenius University. Since 1999 – lecturer at the Center for European Studies, Comenius University.

Grzegorz Pożarlik

MA in Sociology at the Jagiellonian University. PhD in Humanities at the Jagiellonian University. Assistant professor at the Centre for European Studies, Jagiellonian University. Coordinator of the MA in European Studies programme. Authors of numerous articles about European citizenship, enlargement, the entrance of Poland into the UE. Participated in international conferences relating European issues. Teaches in the Centre for European Studies at Jagiellonian University, in Department of Politics at the University of Bristol, in the Institute of European Integration at the National University of Lviv and in the Centre for European Studies at the University of Vienna.

Eliška Sláviková

joined the Research Center of the Slovak Foreign Policy Association (RC SFPA) in February 2008. She is carrying out research and project activities on Western Balkans, Latin America, Democracy and Development, Human Rights in Foreign Policy. In 2002-2007 she worked in the People in Peril Association, a Slovak NGO providing relief aid and development assistance, defending human rights and freedoms worldwide, where she established and supervised the Democratization and Human Rights Program. She was managing development projects in Kosovo, BiH, Serbia, Ukraine and Cuba. In the period of 2000-2002 the worked in the EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy in Prague as the editor of the “Integrace” journal focued on EU issues and the integration process. She received MA degree in the International Teritorrial Studies at the Charles University in Prague.  

Ivo Šlosarčík

Ivo Šlosarčík

Graduated in EU law, comparative constitutional law and the EU Integration from Charles University in Prague and Central European University in Budapest. Since 1999 lecturer in European law and integration at the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence of Charles University and at Anglo-American College in Prague. Founding member of the Institute for European Policy EUROPEUM where he is Director of research and Head of Legal Program. Editor of the European Policy Forum and Czech correspondent of the European Public Law Journal. Member of the advisory board for the European Constitution in the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs. 

Paweł Świeboda

Paweł Świeboda

Founder and head of demosEuropa – the Centre for European Strategy. He graduated in 1994 from the London School of Economics (International Relations). In 1996 he became an adviser on European policy to the President of Poland and later headed the European Integration Office in the President’s Chancellery. Between 2001 and 2006 he served as the Director of the European Union Department in the Foreign Ministry. Swieboda is a member of several expert commissions including the Lisbon Council and the Commission on Europe after 50 set up by Chatham House. He writes a regular column on foreign policy in the Gazeta Wyborcza daily. 

Krzysztof Szczerski

From January to September 2007 Undersecretary of State in Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From September 2007 to January 2008 Undersecretary of State in the Office of the Committee for European Integration.

Graduate from the Jagiellonian University. Holder of doctoral degree in political sciences. Author of many publication on european integration and public administration.  Deputy Director at the Institute of Political Science and Political Relations at the Jagiellonian  University.

  

Borys Tarasyuk

Ukrainian diplomat and politician, twice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in five governments under two Presidents (1998-2000, 2005-2007), Vice-President of the EURONEST Parliamentary Assembly. Founder and Director (since 2001) of the Institute for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation and Chairman of the Board of the magazine "Euroatlantic". Leader of the political party “People's Movement of Ukraine” (2003-2012), Deputy Head of All-Ukraine Union “Bat'kivschyna” party (since 2013). Member of the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine (since 2002 till now), Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs (since 2014). Chair of Inter-factional Group “Ukraine in NATO”. Head of the Parliamentary Committee for European Integration (2002-2005, 2006 and 2007-2012). Since 1975 he served at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Mission at the UN (1981-1986), member of Delegation to UN Security Council (1984-1985), Ambassador of Ukraine to the Benelux countries (1995-1998), Head of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO (1997-1998). Has the rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (since 1992).

Jan Truszczyński

Graduated from Foreign Trade Department at the Central School of Planning and Statistics, and completed post-graduate German and International Law Studies. Joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1972. 1978-1982 the Second Secretary at the Polish Embassy in the Hague, 1988-1989 Counsellor at the Polish Embassy in Brussels,1989-1993 Counsellor-Minister Plenipotentiary at the Permanent Mission to the European Communities in Brussels,1996-2001 Ambassador to the European Union in Brussels. In 2001 Under Secretary of State at Chancellery of President of Poland, responsible for European integration matters. In 2005 State Secretary in the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Since October 2005 Director of the Polish-German Cooperation Foundation (Stiftung für Deutsch-Polnische Zusammenarbeit). 

Jacek Woźniakowski

Jacek Woźniakowski

Professor of history of art. Uniwersytet Jagielloński and Katolicki Uniwersytet Lubelski. He also was the chairman of the board of Villa Decius Association, now its Honorary President. He cooperated with Tygodnik Powszechny, was chief editor of  Znak and chief editor of publishing house Znak. 1989 he took part in the Round Table negotiations. 1990-1991 he was mayor of the of city Kraków. Author of dozens of books: "Zapiski kanadyjskie", "Góry niewzruszone" and articles, interpreter of Bennett and Greene. For special merits for France in field of culture awarded with Croix de la Légion d'Honneur.
